I know people compare ASOIAF to LoTR often but I feel The Dark Tower series is a better comp because how it mixes fantasy and sci fi and an expanded universe and long standing favorite themes of the author. Until I read ASOS, Wizard and Glass was my favorite book in the fantasy/ scifi genre. 2.
