Basically a more consistent America, when it comes to defending your home territory. When played well, Maya can be a very powerful tall civ. Bonus to cities and units within 6 tiles of your capital, farms giving +1 housing and adjacency to campus, etc. If you build Audience chamber and manage to promote all of your governors in cities you get even more bonuses and can grow very tall while being easily defendable. 7.
