Valve cover gasket leak - 4% of the time. PCV valve leak (this is JUST below the dip stick hole) - 1% of the time. yes, I pulled the % out of my butt., Alternator Saver, spool valve leak, oil leak. Shove a few folded paper towels between the top of the alternator and the spool valve, check the paper towels periodically for oil contamination. This telltale may be easier to spot than wet oil grime collecting on the metal.
