Issues with pontiac g6

TCM Issues. So i've been working on this G6 for a few weeks now and its driving me insane. I think I may have POTENTIALLY found a major breakthrough in it. A little history on what the issues have been: Replaced motor with a salvage 3.5L out of an 08 Impala (Using the G6 Harness), after completion, the car ran and drove.

I drive a 08 Pontiac G6 with like 77,000 miles on it. Lately my check engine light has been steadily on and when I accelerate from stop my car is sluggish as all heck. Sometimes the RPMs shoot up to 5,000 before it even shifts and starts to drive normal. It does it again at the 40 MPH range.
