My short answer is: yes, it has paid for itself multiple times over, saving me millions of NP on training (plus a lot of time, too).The Lab Ray is completely random. There is really no such thing as luck. I once spent close to 3 weeks zapping a pet without any notable color change. I ultimately pounded the pet and gave up. On the other hand, just this week I started zapping a Poogle. On day 1, zap #3 (I had 2 extra per day) he turned MSP.SO ANNOYING. just bought one for another side account to learn that I can’t even use it until who knows when. I just found this out with the PetPet lab map. It's October 2023 and its STILL not working for me : (. I figured this out earlier too 😭 didn't but all the map pieces yet, I could afford them all anyhow. Prior to gaining access to the secret lab ray, yes, they can be stolen or destroyed by random events, so keep them in your SDB until you have them all.
