I was at 1 cm about 5 weeks before I actually went into labor. I know that can vary from person to person though. I was checked at 36 weeks and was dilated at 3 cm. Also the castor oil barely even did what is was supposed to., I was at 1 cm about 5 weeks before I actually went into labor. I know that can vary from person to person though. I was checked at 36 weeks and was dilated at 3 cm. Started to have strong like periods cramps 2 days later, and when went in to LD to get checked, I dilated from 3.5 cm to 5 cm within hours.
